Session Track: Global Innovation Showcase

Vehicle Sentinel Monitoring over GMSL

InCabin

Presentation

Modern passenger vehicles increasingly need always-on, ultra-low-power exterior monitoring while parked to detect intrusion, vandalism, towing attempts, and other perimeter events without compromising battery health. This session presents a Vehicle Sentinel Monitoring architecture that keeps the host SoC and high-bandwidth video link over GMSL in deep sleep while an always-on sensing path and edge inference remain active. In Sentinel mode, low-resolution video is continuously analyzed on the edge. When an event is confirmed, the system retains pre-roll context, triggers a hardware wake signal, and restores the video pipeline so the host can display both the triggering event and the live scene. The talk covers system-level sequencing for sleep entry/exit, wake signaling, and deterministic link recovery, along with practical demo learnings on power behavior and wake latency. The approach demonstrates how advanced low-power modes and high-speed video transport can be integrated into real-world automotive security applications.
