Keynote

There is a fundamental challenge of pace and timing now facing the automotive industry. While much of the market is still grappling with the transition to Software-Defined Vehicles, a new wave of tech-first automakers is already pushing beyond SDV toward AI-Defined Vehicles (AIDVs). The session cuts through the hype to clarify the real distinction between SDVs and AIDVs, and what each implies for hardware architectures, software stacks, data pipelines, and development environments.

We will then examine the widening gap between legacy OEM roadmaps, often constrained by platform cycles, organisational inertia, and incremental upgrades, and competitors building AI-native vehicle platforms at speed: who are the leaders in this race, and what are their success criteria? From the shift away from domain-specific functions toward full-domain AI engines, to the technical levers required on-board and off-board, this keynote explores what “catch-up” really looks like. The session concludes by outlining how traditional OEMs and their supply chains must adapt to close the pace gap and remain competitive in an AI-accelerating industry.
