Examining Centralized In-vehicle architectures: Finding the Sweet Spot for the Infrastructure Bandwidth

Event: InCabin USA

| Session Date: Thursday 23rd May

Hear from:

Daniel Shwartzberg
Daniel Shwartzberg,
Director of Business Development and System Solutions,
Valens Semiconductor

There is an interplay of requirements between the three main elements of an ADAS/AD system – the sensor, the ECU, and the SerDes connecting between them. The growing resolutions of the sensors, for example, forces higher bandwidth requirements on the SerDes, while the SoC’s demand for sensor fusion has implications on the amount and type of sensors spread across the vehicle. This session will review the growing requirements of the ADAS system elements – cameras, radars, LiDARs and SOCs. We will also address the resulting requirements imposed on the SerDes connectivity solution including bandwidth, EMC, frequency, link distance, time synchronization and fast boot.
