To create the next generation In-cabin sensing you need to use both visual as well as beyond visual ways of detecting occupants. Radar operates reliably in darkness, through objects and can detect subtle vital signs that other sensors miss. Creating a trustable view of the whole cabin from a single position in the vehicle requires a sensor that is able to reliably capture the situation in the cabin. In ADAS waveguide antennas have been used to enhance the field of view and increase range and resolution. Historically waveguide antennas have had drawbacks being bulky and expensive to produce. With Gapwaves waveguide technology the antennas can be thin, easy to produce and integrate. In this presentation these properties will be analyzed and explained and a concept for an easy to integrate sensor solution will be presented and discussed.
