As vehicles become more automated, the next safety frontier is the smart combination of interior sensing with ADAS, enabling the vehicle to react intelligently to the state of its driver and occupants. Driven by new Euro NCAP requirements, this presentation showcases how we are using AI to pioneer this transformation.
Our approach centers on the AI-powered fusion of in-cabin radar and video to achieve a holistic understanding of the in-cabin scene. By monitoring driver and occupant states through gaze, 3D body pose and vital sign estimation, the vehicle can dynamically tailor ADAS interventions for enhanced safety.
This integration of interior and exterior sensing also unlocks a new level of comfort beyond NCAP, enabling intuitive features like gaze-based maneuver approval and automated start-offs. This presentation will demonstrate how understanding the human inside is becoming as critical as perceiving the world outside, creating a driving experience that is not only safer but also seamlessly interactive.
