In the rapidly evolving landscape of in-cabin intelligence, the automotive ecosystem seeks solutions that combine accuracy, scalability and flexibility integration. This paper describes innovative micro-sleep prediction system developed by Sleep Advice Technologies and based on near IR camera HW/SW technology provided by LG Electronics. In particular, the experimental activity performed in the lab, on the dynamic vehicle simulator and on a real car is presented. Worth mentioning the accurate validation of the results achieved by applying medical science and validated through objective method involving a mixed team of medical doctors’ experts in sleep medicine, neurology and automotive engineers.
The whole activity is setting a new standard in the automotive industry by providing the most accurate in-cabin monitoring system available nowadays and paving the way towards an objective validation method oriented towards the new more stringent automotive requirements proposed by EuroNCAP.
The presentation will provide details about the experimental activities, including recent achievements with major automotive OEMs/suppliers.
