Roundtable 2: Using cars to improve lives: What’s the commercial path for in-cabin mental health detection?

It’s now possible to detect indicators of common mental health disorders, such as depression and clinical fatigue, from face and voice behaviour captured by existing ADAS hardware. Because a vehicle’s cabin monitors the same driver on the same route at consistent times under controlled lighting and acoustics, in-cabin offers a uniquely stable environment for measuring these digital biomarkers – arguably better than a phone or wearable ever could. The technology is increasingly proven. The harder question is commercial: how do OEMs turn this capability into something customers actually value and pay for? Join this roundtable to explore how drivers would want their health data delivered, what they’d pay for such features, how regional medical device regulation shapes rollout, and where mobiles, wearables, and other sensors fit alongside the car itself.
