Bringing AI Into In-Cabin Warning Systems to Improve The User Experience

Presentation

In-cabin monitoring systems significantly improve road safety.
However, the interaction between these systems and drivers is not robust enough to make drivers feel safe.
Sometimes, drivers may disable the system because it can issue unnecessary warnings.
Today, I want to discuss a simple topic: making the system more pleasant for drivers.
We are living in a new computing era, often referred to as the “AI era.”
The term “AI” is broadly used and can be confusing, but my focus is using a reasoning model as a part of warning system.
When we hear about AI systems, we often think of them as replacements for humans.
However, this reasoning model-based warning system does not directly interact with drivers.
Instead, it monitors the output from the in-cabin monitoring system and creates suggestions or warning prompts with summarized reasons
Other systems can then use this information to take appropriate actions for the driver.
