Displays of 24 Megapixel or higher require a tremendous amount of video data. For example, a
24Mpx/30bpp/60fps pillar-to-pillar display requires approximately 50Gbps of video payload data. In
automotive display systems, there are 3 primary choke points: the ECU SOC-to-serializer, serializer-to
deserializer, and deserializer-to-TCON (or equivalent).
Smaller displays which bring the gaming experience into the vehicle can demand frame rates of up to 144 fps.
This linearly increases the video data payload.
