Kailash Lakshmikanth

Kailash is a Software Engineer with strong experience in machine learning, applied artificial intelligence, and computational neuroscience. His work spans both academia and industry, with a focus on automotive AI and real-world applications of artificial intelligence. He holds a Dual Degree in Biological Engineering from IIT Madras and has contributed to a wide range of multidisciplinary research and engineering projects.

He currently works in the Value Engineering team within the ADAS department at CARIAD India, where he has led multiple automotive proof-of-concept initiatives, some of which have evolved into full-time projects. He led the development of a Blender-based synthetic data generation tool for In-Cabin Sensing, which began as proof of concept and has since grown into a full-time project. He also contributes as a developer to a similar project built using Unreal Engine. Previously, he worked at a gaming company, where he explored generative AI applications in gaming and marketing.

Before moving into industry, Kailash conducted computational neuroscience research at MIT, IISc Bangalore, and IIT Madras, focusing on neural modeling, reinforcement learning-based behavior, and simulation-based analysis. He is a co-author of a publication in Scientific Reports and has presented his work at an international conference.
