Timo Rehfeld

Timo Rehfeld is an engineering leader and AI/ML expert with over 15 years of experience in computer vision, sensor fusion, autonomous driving, and in-cabin sensing. He began his career at Daimler AG as a computer vision researcher while earning a PhD in Computer Science, then advanced through senior technical and leadership roles at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, leading sensor fusion teams for self-driving vehicles. Since joining Aptiv, he has built and led high-performing AI/ML teams delivering production-grade interior sensing solutions for automotive customers worldwide. His achievements include co-founding the Cityscapes dataset, authoring numerous scientific publications, and contributing multiple patents in automotive AI and vehicle safety systems.
