IEE to Debut Real-World In-Cabin Sensing Demo, Featuring VitaSense Child Safety Technology

As the automotive industry evolves, in-cabin sensing solutions have gained importance, focusing on user comfort and convenience. There is a shift towards user-centric features, with intelligent systems crucial for meeting demands for personalization and safety, as highlighted by standards like Euro NCAP 2030+, GSR, and NHTSA to name but a few. In-cabin sensors improve driver engagement and health monitoring, enhancing safety through occupant awareness.
By leveraging a connected hardware platform with distributed, collaborative sensor systems, manufacturers can achieve cost efficiency through reduced reliance on multiple sensors. These technologies enhance the driving experience and ensure safety standards, offering peace of mind and a compelling value proposition to both manufacturers and consumers.
Among key elements such as seatbelt reminders, hands-off detection, and occupant classification, IEE will feature its child presence detection solution, VitaSense. This innovative solution was developed to prevent vehicular heatstroke in children.
It uses a sensitive radar system to detect vital signs of unattended children, alerting caretakers without altering vehicle interiors or using cameras. As the first interior radar sensing solution for at-risk children, VitaSense enhances child safety and offers a discreet way to protect vulnerable passengers.
InCabin USA 2025 attendees can find IEE at booth 116, where they will have the opportunity to meet the team and discover firsthand the sensors equipped demo car.
