Pedro Da Silva brings over two decades of automotive engineering expertise to AutoSens USA 2025. Since 2018, he has served as Head of Department for Engineering Vehicle Safety Restraint Systems at Volkswagen AG, where he leads the global engineering strategy for restraint systems, steering wheels, and interior sensing technologies across the Volkswagen brand.
Pedro’s career with Volkswagen began in 2008 and has spanned several leadership roles. Prior to his current position, he was Head of Body System Engineering and Exterior Lighting Systems at Volkswagen do Brasil, overseeing exterior development for both local and export products in the SAM region. He also led the global engineering of body door systems from 2010 to 2015, managing key components such as mirrors, trim, and lift mechanisms.
Pedro holds a Master’s degree in Automotive Production from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Germany and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Algarve in Portugal. His deep technical knowledge and global perspective make him a standout thought leader in vehicle safety and sensing innovation.
