Albert Theuwissen is author or coauthor of 280+ technical papers in the solid-state imaging field and issued several patents. He was co-editor of IEEE Micro special issue on Digital Imaging Nov./Dec. 1998 and of the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices special issues on Solid-State Image Sensors, May 1991, October 1997 and January 2003. For the special issue IEEE-ED on image sensors, published in January 2016, he acted as the guest editor-in-chief. He was general chairman of the International Image Sensor Workshop in 1997, 2003, 2009 and 2015. He is member of the Steering Committee of the aforementioned workshop and founder of the Walter Kosonocky Award, which highlights the best paper in the field of solid-state image sensors. In 2010, he was elected as the Imaging Engineer of the Year. Together with his peers, Eric Fossum and Nobukazu Teranishi, he founded the International Image Sensor Society (IISS), a non-profit organization to stimulate sharing of technical knowledge in the field of digital image capturing. In 2013 Albert was awarded with the Exceptional Service Award of IISS, and he was IISS president from 2017 till 2021.
In 2007 Albert founded Harvest Imaging, since then he is focusing on training in the field of solid-state image capturing. In the meantime he has been lecturing 290+ trainings and courses all over the world, in-house as well as open courses.
