Senior Research Fellow
Dr Ruth Madigan is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds. She is a Human Factors specialist with a background in applied psychological research, focused on understanding human-vehicle interactions, and training requirements for drivers and other road users. Since completing her PhD on driver training and hazard handling in 2014, she has been involved in multiple EU and UK funded projects, including CityMobil2, AdaptIVe, interACT, L3Pilot and Hi-Drive. Her research uses psychological concepts and theories to further our understanding of human behaviour in the road environment, incorporating a wide variety of different methodologies including systems analyses, experimental studies, questionnaire data, and qualitative video analysis techniques.
